Upper Galveston 11/23, and 11/26 Sabine 11/25

On 11/23 I has a party of three consisting of Mr.Ed and his 2 children. We had a blast. We caught some solid trout and missed a couple of good fish we just could not get in the net. The main thing is that his kids had a good time. We caught fish in every location we fished and then boats would just move in on us and the bite would stop. All fish were caught in 4-6 feet of water on shell. We caught 15 trout and 2 4lb trout in those fish. On 11/26 I took a trip to Sabine Lake to see if the BIG TROUT bite has started. Three of us went and on the first stop we hit a 4 lb trout out of the gate and we thought it was on. Well that was the only bite there. We decided to pass on the birds and keep wadefishing. We stopped on a few places on the LA shoreling and on the 3rd stop it was on. No trout but a group of REDFISH. The redfish would hit topwaters and any plastic you threw at them. They were caught in 2-3feet on water on soft mud.  We had our 9 trout and 1redfish Then on 1125 I had a party of 2. I almost canceled the trip due to the weather forcast, but I am glad we did not because the bite was on before the front. The first 2 stops yielded no fish but the third stop it was on. The fish had move from the previous location. The were in 3 feet of water on shell. We threw live shrimp and popping corks and caught plenty of fish for about 3 hours. All fish were solid fish in the 18-20 inch range. It was a good morning and off the water just before the front hit at noon. Thanks to all parties and I look foward to fishing with all of you again.

Tinity Bay 11/18/11

Today we left the dock at 7am in search of the big trout. We arrived at the first spot and right out the gate my customer hooks a 6lb trout. Measures almost 26 inches. We continued to drift picking up 2-3 fish per drift in 5-6 feet of water. Lots of small trout mixed in. Then it happened I got hit and she came thrashing to the top and white washing every where. After a brief battle she was landed 28 inches and just shy of 8lbs on the boga. What a pig. We drifted a few more times and hooked up with some nice quality fish. The 2 man party ened up with 12 solid trout 2 reds and a 7lb sheppie. Little breezy but over all a nice day on the water..

TRINTITY BAY 11/11 and 11/12

I had 2 trips this Friday and Saturday. Friday the fishing was excellent. We caught a whole bunch of trout but the downside was the size of them. We could only muster a couple of keepers but we did catch some solid flounder up to 4lbs, or our 2 man limit. On Saturday 11/12, we had a much better day. We caught  some solid trout and a bonus flounder. We should of easily had limits but we had fish shake of at the net and loss some solid fish. We ended up with 11 trout and 1 3 pound Flounder. All fish we caught on shell. Friday the weather was awesome and on Saturday the wind blew 20 mph plus. All fish caught in 6 feet of water.

TRINITY BAY 11/3 and 11/5

Fishing has been good on Trinity Bay the past 2 trips. On Saturday 11/3 I had a group of 4 and we caught 29 trout to 6 lbs with 3 more fish in the 4lbs range. The rest of the fish were just solid keepers in the 17-19 inch range. The fish were in 5-6 feet of water. We used live shrimp on popping corks and gulp on popping corks. On 11/5 I had a party of  2 and the redfish bite was excellent as the trout bite slowed for me. I fished 3 areas that were loaded with redfish in 2 feet of water with shell and mud. All the redfish would eat were topwaters, they would not eat anything else. It was excellent action for about 3 hours on the redfish.
